Megan P. Goodwin

Megan P. Goodwin is an American religion scholar/teacher whose work focuses on gender and sexuality in contemporary American minority religions.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Megan Goodwin )〕 She is a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Creative and Innovative Pedagogy in the Humanities and a Lecturer in Religious Studies at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. In 2013-14, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina.
Goodwin holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Department of Religious Studies. Her dissertation was entitled "Good Fences: American Sexual Exceptionalism and Minority Religions." She holds an M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Also, Goodwin holds a master's degree in Women's Studies from Drew University with concentrations in biblical studies and literature. Her thesis was "Eve and the 'Other' Woman: An Anglo-American Literary Evolution of the Motherhood Paradox Created for the Character of Eve by the Contradiction of Genesis 3:16 by Genesis 4:1." She holds a B.S. in print journalism from the College of Communication at Boston University with concentrations in English and History.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Religion, and she was the chief convenor of Unusual Positions: Controversial Approaches to the Study of Religion and Sexuality 2015 conference at Bates College.
In addition to her peer-reviewed work in academic journals, she has written for more general audiences. Her article "Don't Be Tooken in by Kimmy Schmidt's Cult" on the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was published by Religious Dispatches. Also, she was featured on Directions in the Study of Religion with Kristian Petersen for Marginalia, an Los Angeles Review of Books channel.
